The Kandler family came from the sea before landing in Languedoc-Roussillon 30 years ago. After creating a company specialized in professional sailing and at a time when few believed in its potential, the French-German family bought a remote vineyard in the Minervois region, between land and sea, close to Carcassonne and the Canal du Midi, both on UNESCO’s Heritage List.

Until then, grapes were sent to the local cooperative. They built new production facilities on the site that formerly hosted a gallo-roman villa and started working on sustainable agriculture to give a new life to their vineyard.

One hundred year old vines are now sharing their soil with new vines, producing a complete range of red, white and rosé wines with a unique personality and reflecting their terroir more closely. Our wines are particularly well suited to accompany meals, from our native Mediterranean cuisine as well as global specialties.

The second generation of the Kandler family has now taken over to move towards organic production, worldwide distribution, and to extend its know-how in the selection of innovative wines from different terroirs.

We have there for created a dedicated company: La Tour du Tourril, which has made itself well known by producing « Le Vin des Globes »: the official wines of the around the world sailing races. This 3 colors wine range has been an immediate success with great sales and awards (Gold & Silver medals in France and abroad).

Following this success and thanks to the unique access to a large production area in Languedoc (1000 vineyards, 6.000 Ha, 350.000 HL, +100 varietals), we can now offer the production of custom AOP/IGP mono/multi-varietal wines in any format at competitive price and are distributing wines from other vineyards which bear the same values of quality and originality in order to meet the expectations of ever more demanding consumers in France and abroad.
